Honorary Consul Anton Siekel visited Colombia during the first week in March. He held talks at the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia. During the meetings with Mr. Francisco Coy, Director of Europe and Mr. Javier Higuera, Director of Migration, Consular Affairs and Citizen Service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Honorary Consul presented the activities of the Honorary Consulate in Bratislava, discussed the mutual relations between Colombia and Slovakia and also talked about the upcoming working visit of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Miroslav Lajčák to Colombia.


With Ms. Sandra Howard, Vice Minister of Tourism at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, he discussed the business opportunities for hospitality-oriented companies both in Slovakia and Colombia. Apart from the meetings at the aforementioned ministries, Honorary Consul also held talks at the Ministry of National Defence. With Mr. Juan Castro, Director of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, he negotiated the opportunities for trade cooperation on behalf of Slovak companies. Mr. Milan Cigáň, Slovak Ambassador to Brazil accredited to Colombia was present at all meetings. Honorary Consul also took the opportunity of being in Colombia to meet his counterpart, Honorary Consul of Slovakia in Medellín, Mr. Jenaro Pérez.
